This page is mostly so I can quickly get going on a new computer (and it’s a bit out of date)…
- R (I miss decent type checking)
- RStudio
- Haskell (GHC)
- Python. The Pygame library was handy for psych experiment programming around 2009!
- LaTeX (MikTeX on Windows)
- Zotero.
- Firefox
- VirtualBox
- SFTP SilverSHielD (server) and Swish (client) for Windows
- Cmap, for making concept maps
- ScreenToGif – “Screen, webcam and sketchboard recorder with an integrated editor”. As the name suggests, outputs to GIF.
Qualitative analysis
- Taguette – simple and straightforward to use (I’ve tried the web-based version so far, in 2024)
- Open Code – used around 2013, was grand!
Inference engines of various kinds
- Prover and Mace
- CkC-Check Coherence – really want a version of this in R!
- GeNIe
- LEAN
- pyAgrum – just discovered (April 2022); looks useful for imprecise probabilities
- Hackenbush – this is an interesting game that is related to surreal numbers
- DAGitty – causal DAGs; free online tool and R package
Linear programming
- lp_solve: a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) solver
Diagrams
